Canton, St Paul & Pacific Rwy, Georgia Northeastern RR, Georgia Marble RR

Saturday at 1100 hrs. - Canton, St. Paul & Pacific Railway in Canton, Ga. This is just a few miles from our Sunday set-on. This one and one/half inch scale railroad (the track gauge is 7 ½ inches) features both steam and diesel. Sunday - Georgia Marble Railroad must go through two switchbacks in order to get to the marble mines from Tate. Tate is at the top of the mountain, the mines at the very bottom. This may be the only freight-only railroad in North America that still uses switchbacks. Some of our trackage will be up to a 7 percent grade. Amador Foothill Railroad
The Recreational Railroad Coalition and Motorcar Operators West offer a rain or shine excursion in the spectacular California Gold Rush Foothills. This is a new railroad to motorcar excursions. Bring your car to warm south Texas and lose those winter doldrums. Participants will travel approx. 60 RT miles between Penitas, TX and Rio Grande City, TX. Track parallels the Mexican border along the Rio Grande River. Palouse River & Coulee City RR
Pacific Railcar Operators is pleased to announce a First Day of Spring railcar excursion on the PCC (Palouse River & Coulee City) Railroad, March 20th and 21st. On Saturday we'll run from Walla Walla to Weston, Oregon (26 miles) and return and then Walla Walla to Wallula by the Columbia River (Zanger Jct. 27 miles) and return for a total of 106 miles - and a lot of W's. On Sunday, we'll run from Walla Walla to Waitsburg to Dayton and return (60 miles). The Dayton Depot built in 1881 just to the north is the oldest in Washington. We'll travel by vineyards, creeks and pioneer towns up to the top of scenic hills. Cost is $195. Please download a PRO General Release, a PRO Agreement Form, and a PRO Car Inspection Form, have them filled out and signed. All NARCOA rules are in effect. Last run on the Amador Foothill Railroad
Recreational Railroad Coalition has lost access to the Amador Foothill Railroad effective 3/25/10. The Motorcar Operators West excursion planned for 3/20 on the AFRR will be modified to include two days of running including a Saturday Night run. The Sunday 3/21 ride on the ST+E in Stockton, CA, will be rescheduled to a later date. There will be a total of 100 round trip miles of great mountain running. These are rain or shine dates, but any day on the rails beats staying home. This is a Narcoa Insured excursion, all Narcoa requirements will be observed. We are especially concerned about proper footwear and will require ankle high boots and long pants.The run fee for both excursions will total $50, or $35 for one day. Sunday - Florida Northern Railroad - Ocala, FL We will set on in downtown Ocala, Florida, North of Highway 40 grade crossing in an area where the track runs down the middle of the street for several blocks starting at 08:00. 360 Image. Departure at 09:00. (approx 50 miles). We will run South to Candler in the morning, the cross the diamond on the CSX main (360 image) and run North to the end of track in the afternoon. The Oklahoma Railway Museum is sponsoring a motorcar ride on Farmrail Railroad, April 10-11, 2010. The trip on Saturday will be from Clinton, OK south on the old Frisco Line to Snyder, OK and return. The Trip on Sunday will be on the former Rock Island Line from Clinton West to Elk City and return. This is a NARCOA insured event and NARCOA Rules apply. Cost for the run is $70.00. PRO is pleased to sponsor its Colfax Spring Excursion on the Hooper and Thornton branches of the PCC Railroad (WATCO) April 24 & 25, 2010 in southeast Washington. Set on will be at Colfax, WA, on Friday, April 23rd from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, and Saturday, April 24th from 6:30 am to 7:30 am. Saturday’s trip will go from Colfax to Thornton and return, 113 miles. Sunday’s trip will be to Hooper where the PCC interchanges with the UP and return, 106 miles. Trip fee of $200.00 per car includes railroad costs. Southeastern Railcar Operators, Inc is planning our spring ride for Apr. 30 - May 1, 2010 Set on Location at the St. Marys Railroad engine house. Set on Friday afternoon with time for an evening ride. Saturday we will travel to Kingsland and return, approximatly 34 mi. St. Marys is planning a caboose ride after the trip with their diesel and caboose. We are adding $10 to the ride to cover the expense for the diesel and caboose. National Train Day - Toledo, Ohio
Non OVR / NARCOA event. We are invited to display our motorcars at the Northwest Ohio/Southeast Michigan observance of Amtrak's National Train Day. Last year, some 3500 people visited the station area throughout the day. There will be a static display of Amtrak equipment on the station tracks. This event is being held one week earlier in Ohio to assure a good representation of equipment from Amtrak and possibly other railroads.

Pacific Railcar Operators is pleased to announce the third annual Eastern Washington Gateway Railroad excursion on May 26 and 27 combined with the fifth annual Memorial Day Weekend motorcar excursion on three branches of the former Camas Prairie Railroad (CSP) on May 29, 30 and 31, 2010.
Initial set on will be at Wilbur, WA on Tuesday, May 25. We run Wilbur to Medical Lake on Wednesday, the 26th, 127 miles, and Wilbur to Coulee City on Thursday, May 27th, 67 miles. Friday, May 28th is a travel day and set on at the Great Northwest yard in Lewiston. Saturday, the 29th we will run the Riparia branch, 144 miles, Sunday to Kamiah, 124 miles, and Monday to Craigmont, approximately 86 miles. Storage cars have been removed off the hill between Spalding and Culdesac which provides us the opportunity of running out of Lewiston to Craigmont for the first time in several years.
We require that hyrail vehicles comply with rule 12.1 (E) of the NARCOA operations handbook and carry enough blocking and other materials needed to re-rail the vehicle in case of derailment. American Heritage Railways will sponsor a motorcar excursion on the Texas State Railroad from Rusk to Palestine, Texas in conjunction with the 2nd Annual RAILFEST that will feature rides on a steam train, motorcar rides, food vendors, model railroad vendors, including Miss Texas and live music. Run 25 miles to Palestine. Motorcar operators and passengers will also be allowed to ride the steam train all day and participate in a guided tour of the Palestine Engine Shed. This line is the former B&O main line between Canton and Cleveland built in 1880. This is all very good welded rail that was rehabbed a few years ago. This track is a former mainline of the Lehigh Valley RR from Scranton on it journey to the Chicago and the west. Now newly acquired by the new Lehigh Railway, it follows the Susquehanna River. Saturday is arranged by Larry Maynard on the Wellsboro and Corning railroad. We will set on in Athens. Approximate round trip mileage for this excursion is 190. This ride is limited to 30 cars. St. Croix Railroad
North Branch, MN - The First Iowa Division is hosting a ride on the St. Croix Railroad to end our ride season. We will run between North Branch and Hinkley and return for a lunch break before making a second run to Hinkley and back. Round trip mileage is about 60 miles. Cost of the ride is $40. City of Greenfield Railroad. Former B&O St. Louis Main Line with some travel over the former Detroit Toledo & Ironton. 60 mile round trip. Travel west from Greenfield to Midland, Ohio where we will turn our cars. This is part of the same former main line as the US Rail line in Jackson, Ohio. Dave Verzi is coordinator for Saturday.

San Luis & Rio Grande Railroad - La Veta Pass, Antonito and Del Norte
Alamosa, Colorado. The Rocky Mountain Division is hosting a 263 mile excursion on the San Luis & Rio Grande railroad. 7AM departure for La Veta Pass with a turn west of Walsenburg at MP 180.12 and return to Alamosa. On October 24, a 7AM departure for Antonito, Colorado. After approximately a 1 hour lay over next to the CATS depot, we will return to Alamosa. We will then depart from Alamosa with a noon arrival at Del Norte. The cost is $180. There will be a 25 car maximum. Lynn French will be the excursion coordinator.

To our knowledge, this is the first NARCOA excursion on this railroad. The railroad runs from Boyertown, PA to Pottstown, PA. It's what is left of the former Reading Railroad's Colebrookdale line.
