Looking for a "saddle" (Fairmont part# 44250). This goes between the front safety rail and the "upside-down U" shaped angle iron that goes around the engine compartment at the front of the car. Open cars usually have these and at least one type of cab does also.There are normally two of these connectors and a bolt goes right through them to bolt the rail to the angle iron. I need one for my M19.

You may remember when Ken Ley--former plant superintendent for Fairmont, Ontario, Canada--sold the LAST of the Fairmont track car highway trailers some two years ago. Well, I bought it, and have since outgrown it.

It's a 1987 factory-manufactured Fairmont CH-1; which is essentially a Fairmont push car, with wood deck, steel rails, a sprung single 10,000# axel beneath it, w/o brakes, two attached slide-out loading rails, trailer lights, and a 1 7/8" coupler. Condition is good, the tires are fair, and the factory black finish is fair (They were available in orange or yellow as well; so the Fairmont purist need not be stuck with black.)

$850.00 cash or $950.00 financed for one year. It's a very collectable Fairmont item (and, it's in CA).

Fairmont is completely sold out of the PB15G packing ring for the timer side A1028 packing sleeve on the OD-B engines and there will be no more. They have about 400 M8519 rings for the belt side A1026 sleeve at $4.50 each. I found a ring manufacturer here in Detroit and placed an order for a small quantity of these rings. I am promised delivery in two to four weeks. I expect to sell these rings for $5.00 apiece plus a couple bucks shipping. As I said, quantity is limited and these are custom rings, so I'm not guaranteed supply beyond this order. Rare Sheffield Model 41 (push and go motorcar).

This car was number 205 of the Norfolk Division (Virginia) of the N&W RY and spent its last active days of service on the Norfolk Franklin and Danville Railroad, a subsidiary company of the N&W. The Model 41 is a wooden framed two cylinder direct drive fuel injected car. Sheffield offered in this model fuel injection and direct gear drive. The 41 featured the only fuel injected two cycle engine offered by FM/Sheffield. No poppet valves in the carb!

There are only a handful of these Model 41's in existence. Number 205 was the cover feature photo in the Setoff in 1990-91 while on a trip in Berwick, PA. This car is restored, operable, and garage kept.

When I broke a packing sleeve (A1026 and A1028) on my OD-B engine, I could not find one despite dozens of phone calls. One big dealer offered to sell me one without the rings for $167.85 and the other for $177.85. I took the ones I had to a CNC shop here in the Detroit area, and precision manufacture including heat treating, would cost about $25 apiece in quantities of 30. I am looking to split the cost of the run and am asking for partners to buy a minimum of three each left and right. 'Manufacturer's retail price' for these items would be at least $40.
